Command = LOF
LOF stands for Layers OFf. This utility allows you to select an entity or entities in the screen and then select the layers on which the entities exist will be turned off. An added feature allows you to turn off layers nested in xrefs and blocks.
For example: the drawing BASE-2 has been xrefed into the current drawing. The new draftie in the office is not very familiar with the office layer names and he wants to turn off all the doors for the reflected ceiling plan. He does not know a) the doors exist on BASE-2|DOORS and b) what an XREF is! -
What does he do?
If he picks a door with the LIST command he gets the information relating to the XREF not the door & if he turns off the layer which the XREF is on nothing much happens! With LOF the draftie simply picks the door and the BASE-2|DOOR layer is turned off.
